Common Name:  Liquorice Roots,  Liquiritiae Radix Radice Di Liquirizia Regolizia Spanish Juice  Regaliz Orozuz  Maurizia, glicirizza, dionizia, rades arson, migulezia, niclizia. It has an aspirin like action and is helpful in relieving fevers and soothing pain such as headaches. Licorice has the ability to improve resistance to stress. The Licorice or Liquorice is a perennial Plant, grows about 3 to 7 feet tall. Its survives well in the temperate, warm and sub-tropical climates. Dried Liquorice roots are the underground rhizomes of the Licorice Plant. These dried roots and underground stems (or rhizomes) are brown wrinkled, yellowish from inside and tastes sweet, contains a compound called glycyrrhizin (glycyrrhizic acid). Most of the Licorice grows in Asia and Middle East. 
Licorice root is one of the most biologically active herb in the world, and being used for centuries by various cultures around the world such as Greeks, Asians, Romans and Egyptians for its culinary and most prominently medicinal uses.
